So that's it... 6th day of fall, high up 2 to 66, 9th of poor air quality due to the Paradise Fire, and many organizations throughout the Bay Area close their facilities over the next few days. The Opus Project presents Opus 71 will be rescheduled and combined with Opus 72 on December 15, and, because this is possible -- given the fact that fewer composers offer orchestral compositions re these relatively higher op. numbers for which we can provide parts -- seems to make sense to present Opus concerts from now on ever other month. Certainly it's been an adventure over these past 6 years to present monthly presentations, but a bit of respite is definitely welcome, and perhaps all can be accomplished more effectively in the every-other scenario. Guess it took a major societal (possibly ecological) tragedy to reach this decision.
