before we bid our
fond
farewells
and
hit the road for points north and west (attempting to avoid storms to the south):
to wit, 202 and 100 back to the
PA Turnpike,
briefly east,
then north
on
the
Northeast
Extension
(OK we could have taken 476 Blue Route to the NE, but that's the way it goes sometime). After Leigh (Blue Mountain) tunneling into semi-known
Appalachian Trail /
Pocono
environs,
eventually
the
familiar-
yet-
not-
so
80
West,
across
the
Wilds
of
Pennsylvania,
undulating
up
and
down,
the
long
green
corridor,
Nittany
highlands,
a
Clinton
rest
stop
and
on
through
dizzing
and
reasonable
relief,
as
the
precipitation
finally
foists itself upon us,
ultimately settling in at
Clarion for the
comforts of a
Mexican repast, dreaming of fair skies towards the blue yonder, where it's the 69th day of summer, high 99 -- the more local Pennsy temps, start-and-finish respectively, being 73 and a chilly 64...
