Second day of Summer 2018 Music Appreciation, featuring various world musics (including those of Southern Africa) and other introductory material, with this very impressive assemblage of scholars, and
Quiz 1 is open notes, since we only yesterday received the material...
84th
day
of
summer
(finally tying the number of spring days thus far this year),
high up 5 to 93
Pleasant Hill, 88
San
Ramon,
86
Danville, 83
-- with another stroll on Blackhawk with Harriet,
now from San Andreas,
east back to Jillian, and
return.
As this is part of the series of walks from DVCSR returning to DVCPH via Mt. Diablo, seems approriate to scope out the way ahead, first winding basically north up
Scenic
to
where
it
curves
east
to
become
South
Gate.
Approaching
the
Ranger Station as advertised,
we find out the scoop re certain financial breaks offered soon, pony up the tarrif and
continue on past
Rock City,
making
our
way
higher
towards
Junction.
Stop
for a
look-see,
then onward,
trending downward on North Gate,
another elevating
viewpoint,
then
wending down beyond Turtle Rock
to
Pine Creek Canyon and
Arroyo de la Cerro.
Leaving the Park,
a bit of a turnaround, then onward on Oak Grove to Monument,
the old 680 /
80
routine and
homeward
via
errands.
